Terms of Service
Effective Date: 31 March 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Board & Brewed website at boardandbrewed.ie (the "Site") and the services provided by Board & Brewed ("we", "us", or "our") at our café located at 75 York Road, Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, A96 FR99, Ireland.
By accessing the Site, placing an order, making a booking, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About Us
Board & Brewed is a board game café offering in-venue gaming, food and beverages, an online shop, and PSA card-grading services as an authorised PSA dealer. We are based in Ireland and our services are primarily directed at customers in Ireland and the European Union.
2. Use of the Site
2.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or place orders on our Site. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement.
2.2 Account
You may sign in using our customer account system, which is authenticated through Shopify. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
2.3 Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its servers, or any connected systems.
- Interfere with the proper working of the Site or place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Scrape, harvest, or collect information from the Site by automated means without our written consent.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.
3. Café Services
3.1 Pricing
Our in-venue gaming is charged at the rate displayed in-store and on the Site at the time of your visit. We reserve the right to change our pricing at any time without prior notice.
3.2 House Rules
Guests are expected to treat our games, furniture, and equipment with care. You may be held responsible for damage to games or property caused by negligent or intentional misuse. We reserve the right to refuse service or ask any customer to leave at our discretion.
3.3 Food and Beverages
All food and beverages are prepared and served on-site. Menu items, pricing, and availability are subject to change. If you have allergies or dietary requirements, please inform our staff before ordering. While we take precautions, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment due to the nature of our kitchen.
4. Table Reservations
Bookings are made through our third-party reservation partner, Toast Tables. By making a booking, you also agree to Toast Tables' own terms and privacy policy. We recommend but do not require reservations — walk-ins are welcome subject to availability.
We reserve the right to release reserved tables if your party has not arrived within 15 minutes of the booking time, unless you have contacted us to let us know you are running late.
5. Online Shop
5.1 Products and Pricing
All products listed on our Site are subject to availability. We make every effort to display accurate pricing and descriptions, but errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of a product you have ordered, we will contact you before processing the order and give you the option to confirm or cancel.
Prices are displayed in euros (€) and include VAT where applicable.
5.2 Orders and Payment
All orders placed through our Site are processed and paid for via Shopify's secure checkout. By placing an order, you are making an offer to purchase the product(s) in your cart. We may accept or decline your order at our discretion.
Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase. We accept the payment methods displayed at checkout.
5.3 Delivery and Collection
Delivery options, costs, and estimated timeframes are shown at checkout and may vary. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
5.4 Consumer Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU and have purchased a product online, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days of receiving the product without giving any reason, in accordance with the European Union (Consumer Rights) Directive 2011/83/EU as transposed into Irish law.
To exercise this right, contact us at dave@boardandbrewed.ie with your order details. You must return the product in its original condition at your own cost. We will issue a refund within 14 days of receiving the returned product.
This right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed goods that have been opened after delivery where the seal is broken, or to goods that are personalised or made to your specification.
6. PSA Card-Grading Services
6.1 Our Role
Board & Brewed acts as an authorised dealer and intermediary for PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator). We receive your cards, prepare and submit them to PSA on your behalf, and return the graded cards to you. We are not PSA, and the grading, authentication, and encapsulation of cards is performed entirely by PSA under their own terms and standards.
6.2 Submission and Acceptance
By purchasing a grading service, you authorise us to submit your cards to PSA at the service tier you have selected. You represent that you are the lawful owner of (or have the right to submit) the cards and that they are genuine.
We reserve the right to refuse any submission at our discretion, including but not limited to cards that appear counterfeit, damaged beyond assessment, or are of a type not accepted by PSA.
6.3 Turnaround Times
Estimated turnaround times shown on the Site are provided by PSA and are not guaranteed. Turnaround begins from when PSA marks your order as received and does not include the time we need to receive, prepare, and ship your cards to PSA, or the time for return shipping. Actual turnaround may vary based on PSA's workload and other factors outside our control.
6.4 Upcharges
Each PSA service tier has a maximum final graded value. If your card's graded value exceeds the limit for your selected tier, PSA may reclassify it into a higher tier. If an upcharge applies, we will contact you before proceeding so you can review the additional cost and decide how to proceed.
6.5 Insurance and Liability
Each service tier includes insurance up to the final graded value limit for that tier. This insurance is provided by PSA and is subject to PSA's terms and conditions. Our liability for loss or damage to your cards while they are in our physical custody (before shipment to PSA and after return from PSA) is limited to the declared value of the card at the time of submission, up to the maximum insured value of the service tier you selected, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We are not responsible for loss, damage, or delays that occur while cards are in transit to or from PSA, or while in PSA's custody. Any claims for cards lost or damaged by PSA must be directed to PSA in accordance with their policies, though we will assist you in initiating such claims.
6.6 Card Condition
We take reasonable care in handling your cards, but the grading process inherently involves physical handling by both our team and PSA. Minor handling consistent with normal processing is not grounds for a claim.
6.7 Grading Results
PSA grading outcomes are at PSA's sole discretion. We have no influence over the grade assigned to your card and cannot guarantee any particular grade. Dissatisfaction with a grade is not grounds for a refund.
6.8 Collection and Return
Once your graded cards are returned to us from PSA, we will notify you that they are ready for collection or shipping. Cards not collected or claimed within 90 days of notification will be subject to a storage fee, and cards not claimed within 12 months may be disposed of after reasonable attempts to contact you.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including text, images, graphics, logos, page layouts, and software — is the property of Board & Brewed or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on the Site without our prior written consent.
The Board & Brewed name and logo are our trademarks. PSA, the PSA logo, and related marks are trademarks of Collectors Universe, Inc. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law:
- The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site or our services.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by Irish law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Board & Brewed, its directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of our services, or your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights.
10. Third-Party Services
Our Site integrates with third-party services including Shopify (e-commerce and payments), Toast Tables (reservations), PSA (card grading), Cloudflare (hosting and security), and Google (maps). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, content, or practices of third-party services.
11. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
If you are a consumer habitually resident in the EU, you also enjoy the protection of any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable EU or national legislation.
You may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. All remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
